Lots of sweaters, fishing/ball hats, boot box, wool socks, fishing boots, fishing nets, one stuffed trout, and a picnic blanket.
You can't make this stuff up. Someone gave him a stuffed fish years ago, so he put it on his closet shelf. What else would you do with it?
Pendelton blanket provided the first layer, then added simple brown plates, beige napkins, white flatware, and blue glasses (too bad I only had six blue dollar store goblets.)
Went back to three dollar stores looking in vain for the water goblets, only to find a new style so brought home two. I really like the bubble glass dark goblets. Note to self: Buy 12 when you find them at the dollar store.
Granddaughter Lyla gets her own plate with coloring card courtesy of the Boot Barn to color for her daddy, her hero.
Hope your father's day was a joyful, and silly as mine. Thank you to all the dads for loving their kids, and sharing whatever passions they have whether it be fishing, reading, biking, gardening, or sports.

I'm sharing this post on Tabletop Thursday on Between Naps on the Porch.
Thanks!

What a wonderful Father's Day tablescape!
ReplyDeleteFun and personal!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun table! I think the sweaters & hats on the chairs are so clever.
ReplyDeleteOh my, we have closets like that at our house, too. Whimsical in a manly fashion...I love the sweaters and hats on the chairs. Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteHa! I love the way you dressed the chairs!! Great theme! I may have to do fishing next year, next to golf, fishing is my guys next favorite. They would love this table.
ReplyDeleteHi, CJ! What an absolutely cool table setting! I especially love the....everything! I'll bet your hubby was surprised as all get out! This is really original! GREAT job! I think you win the award for top notch creativity this week!!! As for the blue goblets, I never knew they had the other style. That must have been before I discovered Dollar Tree. I bought 24 of the blue and 24 of the green goblets and flutes. I figure those slender little stems are quite vulnerable! Can't beat the price!!!
ReplyDeleteVery creative and clever! A manly man's table!
