The end of April brought the promise, possibility and sometimes the actuality of an outdoor Porch Party or Deck Dinner. Sometimes the table was set the night before, only to have my husband wake me up as he did on Easter morning to say, "You weren't planning to eat outside, were you?" Well, actually, yes I was, hence the table cloth, napkins and full table setting. However, on Easter morning, the tablecloth, napkins and all dishes were soaking wet. So on to plan two - move the dishes back into the house. But sometimes, the skies simply darkened, causes strange pictures, but enabling the party to continue.
You can see above what the Easter table looked like before the rainy night.
Table cloth from Home Goods. Flatware from Neiman Marcus. Plates found at Marshall's for $2 each. Bird plates from Pier One.
Love the bunny ceramic centerpiece and little vases with wildflowers scattered down the middle of the table.
Sun brightly shining through the gazebo.
New outdoor ceiling fans for HOT afternoons.
Ready to go for the family outdoor Easter brunch. Can't wait!
But when we needed to go to plan B, the tablecloth flew into the dryer, lovely husband dried each plate, glass and flatware.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. As my sister says, it's not about what is on the table; what is most important is who is around the table.
Easter Lyla!
This blog will merge my passion for creating, crafting, sewing, schooling, tablescaping and trying out tech toys. It used to be called CJ's Extemporaneous Effusions, but I kept forgetting how to spell "extemporaneous."
CJ..love your porch parties.

The weather is alittle unpredictable this time of year, you know "spring showers",but looks like a lot of smilin' happy faces!

ReplyDeleteHi CJ,
ReplyDeleteThis Easter table is just gorgeous! It's also wonderful to see your lovely, happy-looking family gathered around it. Your outside pics were so pretty; I'm sorry the rain messed things up, but it looks like you still had a nice day. Everything is so beautifully coordinated. I love the tablecloth, dishes, flatware, and the little vases of wildflowers. Please stop by and visit my blog if you have a chance. I did a Mother's Day tablescape this week. Have a great weekend and a Happy Mother's Day!
